A Trip Down Memory Lane

With all the news this week–some good, some bad–it was nice to just relax last night with a movie I hadn’t seen for years.
When I was a kid, every Sunday night was rigidly scheduled. First, Marlin Perkin’s Wild Kingdom. Then, The Wonderful World of Disney.
The Disney hour was filled with Donald Duck cartoons, Annette Funicello and wildlife documentaries. It was the only way I ever saw Disneyland. Walt Disney was one of the family.
My husband and I both have fond memories of this show. We own “Charlie The Good Time Cougar” and “Winnie The Pooh”. We’ve searched in vain for “Concho, The Coyote” and rented “The Yellowstone Cubs”(which we saw last night). We wanted to introduce our children into the wonderful shows we cherished.
What were we thinking?
The Redneck and I sat and watched these movies while our children whined they just wanted to watch Pokemon.
Well, we had fun.
Here’s my favorite song from my favorite show on one of those many Sunday nights.

I never really knew what Winnie the Pooh was all about as a child. Thank goodness I learned it through raising my kids - I got a second chance to grow up and learn about all the classics :!:

Great Pooh song Jen, love this new blog you are a part of. I wish you all loads of success in your writing careers.

    Rock on Ladies!

I wonder how many of us watched all those same shows on Sunday night! It was a fabulous tradition!

Oh, I’m so glad you discovered Pooh, JavaQueen!!
And Attila, I wish they still had Disney on Sunday nights.

My kids love Disney, but they are young and impressionable.

They love Pooh, Mickey, Goofy, Donald.

We haven’t tried the wild life documentaries yet. My MIL loves them, and they sold all those old Disney Documentaries in a box set, so that’s what I got her for Christmas.
