to keep a writer from writing.
1. Constant food.
I’m either eating, cooking or shopping. It seems to be all I do for the holidays. It makes sitting down and writing a bit tough
2. Constant company.
We have a revolving door in our house. In and out, people crash on our couches, talk, drink coffee. Again, tough to sit down and write with family there that I don’t see much. I’d rather drink coffee. LOL.
3. Constant noise.
Now, I don’t mind TOO much noise, but the T.V. in the background or chatting kind of puts a crimp in writing sex scenes. Right now, I’ve got “John Henry” in the background since Train Boy finally convinced his cousin to sit and watch “American Legends” with him.
4. Constant lethargy.
Call it Tryptophan or just plain laziness, but getting my butt in front of a work in progress has been tough.
I did get about 300 words written but that’s about it. My newest conspiracy theory is that it’s Crystal’s fault.
(I’m kidding Crys.)

What do you mean, kidding? It’s always Crys’s fault. Without that to fall back on…it’d be MY fault, and that’s just unacceptable.
Shall I add my ‘why being preggers is hard on writing’ to the list? I’m fat and getting fatter, which gives me a NUMBER of ways to avoid writing.
Til it’s time to cook…then I’m suddenly captivated by the latest WIP…

I hear you Dayna. I think those 300 words happened when housework was my other option. LOL.
You could definitely do one on “How pregnancy conspires to keep you from writing.”
Although, I don’t think we could say THAT was Crystal’s fault. LOL.

Oh, I can get with the “lethargy” part. Holidays wear me out!

Nov and Dec have always been my worst writing months. Thankfully, I don’t usually get invaded by family, but my kids are home so much it’s about the same thing lol.
And I’m with Dayna. Of course, it’s Crys’s fault.

You’re 300 words ahead of me, Jen! I don’t know how you got anything done. I’m so tired from Thanksgiving dinner-preparation, cooking, cleaning-I feel like I need a week in bed to recover. But my company left this morning, so I’m catching up on email, blog-hopping, anything to keep from actually getting back to work despite my December 1st deadline. *sigh*

I finally got some writing done yesterday…but I will join right in and blame Crystal for everything!

I’d love to be more lethargic at the moment,Lucinda, but I’ve still got people to feed and a house to clean. LOL.
And Lori, I thought I’d go NUTS last year when I had edits, edits, edits and two releases last December.
EEEEK December 1st deadline, Eden? You’re SO much more disciplined than I.
I’m sure Crystal will feel the love from all of us Erika. LOL.

I know what you guys are talking about-I have so much to do but the entire past week I have been visiting with out of town family and cooking and eating and repeat LOL
I have so much to do writing and editing wise its insane. Usually I adore the holidays-this year I wish it would have given me another month or two to get my act together.

Hmm, so Crystal is the father of Dayna’s baby? Who’da thunk it?!
November 26th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
It’s a secret baby plot!!! The question is does Dayna’s husband know!
November 27th, 2007 at 12:32 am
Ooh, was I not supposed to say that out loud? My bad!
Nothin’ to see here, people. Just keep walkin…
November 27th, 2007 at 12:35 am
So the secret is out! How’s he going to take this? I think Dayna will have a child born for writing! LOL
Question is will the secret make it across the web and back to Dayna’s DH before Lisa’s deadline gets here? HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMm

Tune in next week for the dramatic conclusion….
