Normally, I’m all about the chocolate. However, after decimating the kid’s Halloween treasures I’m still in need of a boost.
Never fear: Shop-Weekend is here.
Once a year, my mother, sisters, and cousin-who-might-as-well-be-a-sister and I go away. Without our husbands or children. We hop the border from Canada into the US, and shop. All. Weekend. Or we lounge in the hotel room reading a book without interruption. (Did you know you could have a bath…and lock. the door…so no one comes in?!) There’s also a pool, but since I’m 4.5 months pregnant, I’m not wedging this body into a bathing suit, y’know what I’m sayin’?
This year, things are looking even better…The Canadian dollar hit a buck-ten yesterday. AND they upped the amount we can bring back without duty/taxes. WOOT!
Granted, most of my time/money will be going to Christmas gifts for the kids, hubby (and even the stupid-dawg.) But I have a list for Borders (books, omg books!) and for the shoestore. And WAIT til you see the diaper bag I plan to get for toting around lil4’s stuff. Too cute. I promise photos next week. *crosses heart*
For now, however, I have to pack the bare minimum change of clothing, make sure my ID is in my wallet, and get ready to go. I’m only 24 hours early with my post, and with packing 
I’m going to leave you with my nosey-questions, too:
1) if you could get away, where would you go?
2) if you could buy any three books right now, what would they be?
3) Are you at all jealous that I’m getting away for the whole weekend? Cuz I’ve got to say, I’m more excited than when I got to go to summer camp as a kid

1. Just about ANYWHERE.
2. Tough one. Pre-order Patti O’Shea’s newest, pre-order Steve Hockenbeck’s newest “Black Dove” and L.K. Campbell’s “Gold Star Wife”.

I’d go to Vegas. Stay at the Venetian, hang out by the pool, have a massage at the spa, then shop! Excellent shopping in Vegas!
Books? I have so many books already and too little time to read. I think I’d just want more reading time to catch up on my enormous TBR pile.
Yes, of course I’m a bit jealous, but I’m SO happy you’re getting this time to yourself before #4 comes! You deserve it!

Dayna, no body deserves a break more than a mommy-to-be.
1. If I could go anywhere I would go to an all-inclusive resort in the Carribean.
2. I just want to read the books I already have.
3. Dang right I am jealous. Enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
