to discuss the weather! Man, it is freaking hot here! And y’all know I like heat. Hell, I’m the one that wasn’t hot in Dallas.
But three weeks with the heat index over 100, two of those weeks with the heat index 110 or more, is too damned much even for me. Like most sane people, I’m staying inside. Unfortunately, it’s so hot the a/c in my office can’t keep it cool even if I run it 24/7 full blast. You can’t write when it’s 100 degrees in the room. You just can’t. So I’ve been banished to the living room. ![]()
Where five people talk to me. Non. Freaking. Stop.
Work? What’s that?
So I’ve been concentrating on what I call the busy work. Ya know, answering emails. Tracking down royalty rates/submission guidelines/catching up my blogs/promo ops/etc. I queried a couple NY publishers and have other stuff prepped to go out. All this stuff has to be done yeah, but I miss the writing. Is it bad to hope TS Dean hits the Gulf and swings north? It’s bad when Gulf residents start saying, just a little hurricane, just something to cool things off. *sigh*
Hope y’all are staying cool. Anyone know a rain dance?

No rain dance. How’s about a “cut the humidity” dance? Here, after it rains, it’s more miserable than before the rain.

I totally know what you mean. It was a scorching 81 degrees here on the California coast!!!! *ducks flying air conditioner*
Hope you get some rain or writing time soon.

Umm-did you do a rain dance? And were you thinking of me at the time? I have a serious angry bowling tournament going on above my head, its dark as pitch outside-and raining hard. I think we got Dean.
I really wish I could give it to you. All I wante dwas a sprinkle and some cooler weather.

Lori! Now I’m getting that from you and my husband. I’m just a few hours north of you - as the bird flies - and it’s way too hot up here too. It is bad when you’re hoping for a storm to wander by.

You know where I am so I know exactly how you feel. We made the freaking national news cuz it’s so hot. As far as I’m concerned, whoever invented air conditioning deserves to live the rest of their lives tax free. LOL

aww honey that’s awful.
We had a week like that and I about died. Hope it cool off for you soon.

I totally hear what you’re saying about people talking to you while you’re trying to work. Sheesh. I can never mention when I’m trying to make a deadline–it gets even worse! LOL
I wish it would cool off, too and we need some rain. But, no Dean, please. It’s headed straight for family and friends. “Dean, Dean go away. Don’t come again some other day!”
