I dream of chocolate

By Shelli Stevens | April 3, 2007

Well, I’m officially on day three of my new diet. I was a brave–if not somewhat stupid–soul. I decided to restart my diet the same day I started hardcore potty training. Right. That pretty much sucked, but I survived and dare I add, succeeded in both.

Okay, but let’s stick to the diet. I’m on that last minute crunch to lose about 10-20lbs in that last 3 months before Nationals. Totally possible, so long as I continue to eat right. And I’m doing good on the diet, real good. How do I know I’m doing good? Well, when I start dreaming about food.

Literally. Like I can spend eight hours of my dream eating a chocolate doughnut (that’s my biggest weakness). Last night in my dream I was eating some kind of cream egg all in some kind of erotic way. It was kind of pathetic. I woke up in the middle and kind of just shook my head. I mean why?

It never fails. I do well eating good and indulge in my dreams. I’m just hoping I see results for my dreams, or nightmares is what they really are. Because I can’t really have them. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you like have 3-D dreams of food?

Well, I wish I had a more exciting post, but it’s 6:45 and potty training and dieting has sucked the life out of me for the time being.

I don’t dream, and I’m suddenly glad. Good luck with potty training and dieting. You can do it!

I’ve given up on dieting. I decided that after 15 years of being where I am, I better be happy with it because it isn’t changing anytime soon. I’ll go to the gym instead and see if that helps. *laughs insanely* Nationals, here I come!

Seriously, good luck on the diet and I’m proud of you for sticking to it. :) Way to go!

I feel your pain Shelli. I’ve decided to invest in a personal trainer for a month to get me back to the gym. My word verification is fpwmrumu Sounds like how I feel.

Poor Shelli — I figure when I start dreaming about food, that’s when I’m up in the middle of the night snacking in my sleep!

ujgwofco — that’s my verification word. Doesn’t it sound like my mouth is full of chocolate donut?

Crystal: You have to dream! Everyone dreams!

Kelley: I hate it, potty training is evil.

Aura & Keziah: It’s so hard to eat well! The exercise is the easy part for now. Sigh.

Ericka: Lol! I haven’t woken up snacking. Yet. :D

    I don’t usually dream about eating…but I do dream about peeing…hee!

Good luck sticking to the diet. Remember that deprivation sometimes creates backlash, so maybe you should go to a donut shop with your friends and eat just a quarter of one and savor every tiny little bite. It might make you happier than dreaming about it. Of course if dream donuts are bigger, creamier and more satisfying…then get back to bed already…

*les sigh* I’m in on the weightloss thing, Shelli. I’m thinking of taping up photos of flat abs (other people’s, obviously) to my fridge to remind me, since the easter chocolate throughout my house looks so good until I realise I’ll never have those abs if I eat it. THen I get depressed and want…chocolate *sniffle*

And I’m actually trying to potty train The Youngest Boy, but he’s so completely uninterested it isn’t funny. Ahh just think, we could overrun this post with potty humour. We won’t, but we so could.
    G’luck, hon!

I don’t remember dreaming of food, but I usually don’t remember my dreams so I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything lol.

Go get some low fat fudgesicles and cheat a little! Long as you don’t eat the whole box, you’ll be fine. ;)

Good luck with the diet and potty training.
