We interrupt my normal blather to talk about Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This post is dedicated to him and all the work he did in his life, and the effect his work still has on us all.
Since this blog is about writing and books, I’m going to talk about my favorite books about (or by) Martin Luther King, Jr. This spans a lot of genres from children’s books to collections of essays to biographies. All are well worth picking up to read.
The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Martin Luther King Jr. and Clayborne Carson
Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King Jr. by Jean Marzollo, J. Pinkney
A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Martin Luther King and James M. Washington
Martin Luther King Jr.: Man of Peace by Lillie Patterson (I believe this one won the Coretta Scott King Award for best book)

I’m so glad someone did this. I thought about it, but you’re book list is much better.
Great blog, hon.

Thanks. I’m a librarian, so I associate everything with books. Even MLK himself.
