Career? No, I’m no talking about the military. However, I do applaud those who choose that life. I wish President Bush would crawl up someone’s…..sorry, I was about to go off on a tangent. LOL
OK..some I’m going to go off on another tangent. I was contemplating the day job/career this week. Some of you know that I’m a middle school librarian. But I work in a really small school. Only about 200 students and because of this, by law, my district could only employ me part-time, instead of full time. So, because of the dynamics of my school, next semester (Tuesday) I have to “teach” - 3 classes of Keyboarding. I went back to school and got my master’s so I could get OUT of the classroom - not get thrown back in it. Don’t get me wrong…I love my school, and my students - 97% of the time - but I do not want to sit in the classroom all day for the rest of my life (well - 21 more years until retirement - whoohoo!). I figured that out a long time ago.
I love my library. Being around all those books is truly an inspiration because sometime, somewhere, an author sat down and this wonderful creation came out of it. And I want to be one of those inspirations one day.
So one day, I want my career to be Author - Librarian!
Have a great weekend.

I applaud you for being willing to teach. It does sound like a great job though. Have a great, hopefully stress free, weekend!

Good luck Lyric!
And I’m librarian too, but I can’t complain. My specialty IS instruction. G’luck with the students!
