It’s a new day, a new week, and a new year. Time to re-evaluate the old year and decide what the hell to do with the new.
That means using the most dreaded, ugliest, nastiest four letter word ever invented: GOAL.
Ack! The word hurts my feelings just saying it. Or writing it, as the case may be.
However, even a dyed-in-the-wool pantser like me has to have a plan, some goals. What would I like to accomplish this year? I’d like to start reading again. So much of my time has been consumed by writing that I don’t get to read that much anymore. Not sure I’ll accomplish this one, but I do have some favorite authors putting out books that I WILL be reading.
Now onto the more practical, career-oriented goals.
1:: Finish a full-length, single title novel
2:: Submit the novel to agents and New York publishers
3:: Finish my Wereplanets series (the second one is set to come out January 19th–woot!)
4:: Have editor/agent appointments at RWA in Dallas, Texas
5:: Finish the first of my dark paranormal category length series
6:: Submit the dark paranormal to Silhoutte Nocturne and/or Harlequin Intrigue
I think that’s enough for a year, don’t you? Too ambitious, maybe? We’ll see. Wish me luck!
So what’s your resolution? What do you want to get done? Write a novel, read a hundred books, get published, get an agent? Tell me about them!
Happy New Year!

I’m thinking my goals really loud. But putting them Out There for people to read scares me. I might jinx them. I know, what am I, like four? But still…I can fail privately or with an audience…I’d prefer privacy.

My biggest ones are just keep up with my deadline schedule, revise Until Death, and get back in shape. Lots of smaller ones I won’t get intot though lol.
