"Impossible"

By Lyric James | December 9, 2006

According to Merriam-Webster’s the definition of impossible is: incapable of being done, extremely undesirable, or extremely awkward or difficult to deal with. As writers, we can never succumb to this word. We can never say, “It’s impossible to write that much.” “It’s impossible to publish one of my stories.” “It’s impossible someone else will ever like my stories as much as I do.”

If we ever let this terribly long word enter are minds, we’re doomed before we even begin. So, my post today is to tell you, “Never ever say the word impossible when it comes to your writing.” I believe in you. Your other writing buddies believe in you. And one day, if you’re not published already by a small or big press, a publisher, somewhere some day will love your work just as much as you do.

I hope you have a great and productive Saturday.

Smooches, Lyric
