Call me all kinds of crazy but I jumped in the fire with several other ladies on this wonderful blog and I*m going to do NaNoWriMo. If you don*t know what that stands for, it*s National Novel Writing Month. It*s the month every year where hundreds (maybe even thousands - I don*t know) all pledge to complete a 50,000 word novel in one month. I*ve never done this before - hence - the all kinds of crazy statement I made at the beginning.
Number one - I*ve never written anything that long before. Number two - I have to attempt to do it in one month. Plus - I*m attempting to complete my YA, which will probably be about the same length this month. So, I*ll probably be real crazy by December and won*t write a dadblastedthing because my brain will be completely fried. I had already set a goal with myself that I would finish these two novels anyway by the end of the December, so, if I actually do it, I*ll have met my goal with a month to spare.
Is there anyone out there whose actually done this before? Not necessarily NaNoWriMo, but finished a book that fast before? Was it wonderful? Was it garbage? Did you end up selling it to a pub? Are there any non-writers out there who secretly want to write a book who may be interested in joining the insanity with Dayna, Loribelle and I? If so, check em out. If not, please stop by the month of November and see if we still have any hair left because I*m sure I*ll be pulling mine out by then. LOL
Have a great weekend.

Lani Diane Rich did and pubbed it with Warner a couple years back! Also one of my old writing buddies recently sold last year’s Nano book to Samhain =) I guess I’ll be doing my own version of Nano since I’ve got to write six pages a day for the next six weeks minus the six hours I lost last night getting a virus off my computer and the six hours I’ll lose today for #1’s birthday. Good luck!

I’m doing it! I’m sure I won’t complete it, but I’m gonna sure as heck try! Good luck, Lyric! We can hold each other accountable!

I did it last year and what I wrote is at places pretty good and other places really dreadful. It’s something I’d love to rewrite but I’m not gonna deal with that now.
I know Jenna over at Divas sold her Nano attempt from a few years ago.
I’m doing it again, but of course I don’t have anything plotted out. But I have an idea…

I’m participating. I did it last year, too. I’m still revising that story.
I’m having fun plotting this year’s story.

I try to use the time as at least a reminder to write every day! I’m signed up too, but haven’t really thought about a new story to work on yet.

I’m doing it for the first time this year. I doubt I’ll finish, but it will be fun to try!
