We are our own worst critics, don’t you think? In that case, wow! Am I a slacker lately or what? I’m trying to take a little break here. I turned in two new stories a couple of weeks ago and I always need some down time after I do that. The thing is what to do with that time? Catch up on the tbr pile? Plot my next story? Blog?
Nope. None of those things. I’ve gone for the ultimate brain rot…television. It’s a little weird because I am really not much of a tv watcher. Nevertheless, I have found some new favorites to add to the few I used to watch.
Lost is back! Anyone watch this last night? As usual, I was more confused at the end of the show than the beginning. My guess is the others are running some kind of weird human lab rat, mind control experiment. Guess we’ll see.
Eureka. I love this SciFi show. Genius zanyness. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out.
Jericho. I have a weakness for end of the world stories, on screen and in books. The struggle to survive and keep your humanity at the same time is just fascinating to me.
The Nine. Another survival story. Nine people who spend over two days as hostages together and what happens in their life afterwards. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one, but I’m hooked. Yeah, apparently I’m part of the rubberneck society after all.
And finally…Battlestar Galactica is back tomorrow night! Imo, this is the best show on tv and this season promises to deliver a lot of punch. If you go to the website and click on First Look, you can see the first ten minutes or so of tomorrow’s season opener.
You know, there is definitely a trend here. I appear to have a preference for survival stories across the board. There’s something about the struggle and resilience I suppose. I’ll be interested to see how this excess of survivor stories influences my writing over the next few months, if at all.
So today I’m wondering, how long a break do you take between projects and what show(s) do you just have to watch?

I try not to take more than a week. But sometimes it’s inevitable.
I’m HOOKED on America’s Next Top Model. God knows why, it’s just a bunch of coat rack sized women getting their pics taken with lots of weird makeup and outrageous hair.

Let’s see, The Nine, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, Law & Order, Criminal Minds. I’m a TV junkie too. I usually take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month between projects. My brain just melts down when I finally finish a story.

Oh I’m so addicted to TV this season. Tonight alone I had to watch Grey’s Anatomy, Survivor, My Name is Earl and the Office. But I’m also addicted to Dancing with the Stars, Biggest Loser and Ghost Whisperer. I miss summer. No TV obligations and I was free to write.
